Senior Bowl - Thursday Press Conference Notes
Scott Wright
President, NFL Draft Countdown

Lane Kiffin - North Head Coach

   • Felt it was good for the team to play in the "extremely poor" weather this morning because it gets them ready in case it's like that on gameday and also because they got to see how the players dealt with it.

   • Thinks the skill position talent on the South roster stands out, especially the wide receivers and the cornerbacks.

   • Even though a lot of scouts have already left Mobile he doesn't think it's a big deal because all of the teams will get the coaching tape to watch.

   • Thought that punter Mike Dragosavich was a little nervous early in the week.

   • They aren't ready to release the quarterback rotation just yet.

   • Might try to get another fullback in late and give him a crash course so he's ready for the game. If not Chauncey Washington will see action at fullback and they will probably run more one-back sets.

   • Thinks that John David Booty seems "so confident" right now.

   • Fred Davis (knee) and Eddie Royal (ribs) are listed as day-to-day and are questionable for the game right now.

Mike Nolan - South Head Coach

   • Says everyone in the NFL is talented but champions have that extra something.

   • The player who stood out most to him this week was Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who caught his eye a couple of times.

   • Does not have a quarterback rotation planned out yet.

   • Actually coached Simeon Castille's father in the NFL with the Denver Broncos. Says that Simeon has good height and range and understands the game.

   • Likes Rafael Little a lot and says that he reminds him of Maurice Hicks. Says he's a North/South runner who finishes plays.

   • Feels that Wesley Woodyard is one of the best defensive players on the squad.

   • Says that Andre Woodson is strong and a good athlete. Woodson has done well this week and worked with Mike Martz a lot.

   • In the game the thing he will be watching for is how the players compete.

   • Thinks Jacob Hester is an interesting guy who will play for a long time and help some team win games. Said he'd be shocked if Hester isn't a good NFL player.

   • Said that Early Doucet is "real pretty" and strong. Reminds him of Anquan Boldin but he doesn't know if he is as competitive. Doucet also needs to stay healthy.

Simeon Castille, CB, Alabama (South)
Brad Cottam, TE, Tennessee (South)
Brandon Coutu, K, Georgia (South)

   • Castille says it is fun to practice with and compete against guy from across the country. Is ready to play the game after all of the monotonous interviews.

   • Cottam said this is an amazing experience and he is enjoying getting to know former opponents. Also feels that the practices are more important than the game.

   • Coutu is excited to play in the game but thinks that the last four years is more important for him than this week was.
