1. Cornerback: Eric Green and Rod Hood aren't shutdown types by any stretch and Antrel Rolle has officially made the move to safety. That means they're now severely lacking in both quality and depth.
2. Defensive End: Darnell Dockett is a perfect fit at defensive end in their 3-4 scheme but the Cards could still use an upgrade opposite him where Antonio Smith is, at best, merely an average NFL starter.
3. Running Back: Edgerrin James is nearing that dreaded 30 year old mark and has a lot of miles on his tires but even assuming that he can stay both healthy and productive a better backup is needed.

1. Quarterback: Neither Joey Harrington or Byron Leftwich were the long-term answer and even though Chris Redman played admirably late in the year this franchise needs a signal caller in the worst way.
2. Offensive Tackle: Wayne Gandy was sent packing and will need to be replaced at left tackle because it's highly unlikely that guys like Renardo Foster and Quinn Ojinnaka are starting material in the NFL.
3. Defensive Tackle: Rod Coleman was their one impact presence on the interior but he's gone and to make matters worse youngster Trey Lewis suffered a major setback in the rehab of his knee injury.

1. Quarterback: Even if he could manage to stay healthy the days of Steve McNair being a top signal caller are long gone. Meanwhile Kyle Boller has shown time and time again that he's not the answer.
2. Cornerback: Chris McAlister has battled injuries and Samari Rolle is getting older and he also battled injuries and a illness. Even more disturbing is their extreme lack of depth beyond those two starters.
3. Defensive Line: Trevor Pryce is still playing well but that will not last forever and there really isn't much depth to speak of behind the starters at either defensive end position or nose tackle Kelly Gregg.

1. Wide Receiver: This is a team in desperate need of some size at wideout. Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish and Josh Reed are all under six feet tall so it's probably time to add a big guy to complement them.
2. Tight End: Robert Royal is not going to strike fear in the hearts of many defenses, especially in the passing game, and a great way to improve a young offense that lacks explosiveness is to add a top TE
3. Cornerback: The Bills not only lost a shutdown corner when Nate Clements bolted as a free agent a year ago but their overall depth behind Terrence McGee also took a major hit so they could use help.

1. Offensive Tackle: Both Jordan Gross and Travelle Wharton were free agents who were retained but Wharton is going to be moving inside to guard which means they still need to find a stud left tackle.
2. Safety: Chris Harris turned out to be a steal and is solid at one spot but Deke Cooper is more of a backup and could be upgraded. There really isn't a whole lot of depth to speak of at safety either...
3. Quarterback: Jake Delhomme is coming off a serious injury and had been on shaky ground before that. Meanwhile David Carr was a huge flop and Matt Moore is still unproven and more of a #2 or 3.

1. Quarterback: Is there any doubt that this is #1? For years now the Bears have had issues under center and it may have cost them a Super Bowl. It's time to find a long-term solution once and for all.
2. Offensive Tackle: Fred Miller has played his last down in a Bears uniform so a starter is needed at right tackle and with John Tait also getting up there in years depth is going to become an issue as well.
3. Offensive Guard: Reuben Brown's seen better days and is a free agent so unless they are real confident that either Terrence Metcalf or Josh Beekman can start at left guard they have a major problem.

1. Defensive Tackle: Domata Peko's developed into a solid starter and is still improving but John Thornton's best days are behind him and the same can be said for their top backup Bryan Robinson too.
2. Outside Linebacker: They have three unrestricted free agents in Landon Johnson, Caleb Miller, and Lemar Marshall while Dhani Jones is not starting material at this point in his career. Need I say more?
3. Wide Receiver: Chris Henry is already gone and Chad Johnson could be following him out the door so at the very least they need to have in a vertical / deep threat to be Carson Palmer's #3 target.

1. Cornerback: To get Shaun Rogers they had to deal away Leigh Bodden, which left a hole opposite Eric Wright. They like youngsters Brandon McDonald and Daven Holly but are they starting material?
2. Outside Linebacker: Kamerion Wimbley is one of the best pass rushing linebackers in the league but Willie McGinest is nearing the end of the line and it's probably time to start grooming a successor.
3. Running Back: Jamal Lewis was resigned but he is getting older and has a lot of mileage on his tires so they really need to bring in a dependable backup in case anything serious should happen to him.

1. Cornerback: Jacques Reeves left as a free agent and he wasn't a star that still hurts. At the absolute least Dallas needs an upgrade in the nickel who they can groom to ultimately start in a year or two
2. Wide Receiver: Patrick Crayton emerged and he was locked up long-term but Terrell Owens is getting older and Terry Glenn may be just about finished so they could use a young, speedy deep threat.
3. Running Back: Julius Jones fled as a free agent and Pro Bowler Marion Barber now steps into the starting job but they still have to find someone to compliment him and be the lightning to his thunder.

1. Defensive Tackle: The Sam Adams experiment was a huge bust and to say that there is almost nothing beyond last years 4th round pick Marcus Thomas would likely qualify as a major understatement.
2. Offensive Tackle: With the somewhat unexpected retirement of Matt Lepsis left tackle could be a concern if Ryan Harris is not up to the job. Even if he is though depth now becomes a problem as well.
3. Safety: John Lynch is nearing the end of his great career and he will have to be replaced soon. Meanwhile neither Hamza Abdullah or Nick Ferguson have proved that they are the answer alongside him.

1. Running Back: Kevin Jones was never able to stay healthy and was sent packing which essentially leaves little (Brian Calhoun) or nothing (Aveion Cason) on their roster at the running back position.
2. Offensive Tackle: George Foster was a massive disappointment and things got so bad that Damien Woody, a natural guard / center, was actually seeing action at right tackle by the end of the season.
3. Middle Linebacker: Teddy Lehman never fulfilled his promise and bolted as a free agent so Rod Marinelli is still looking for a speedy, athletic middle 'backer to plug into his "Tampa 2" defensive scheme.

1. Cornerback: Al Harris and Charles Woodson are about as good of a starting combo as there is in the league but there is essentially nothing behind them and that lack of depth is a pretty major issue.
2. Safety: Despite investing a number of draft picks on the position in recent years they still have issues alongside Nick Collins and the fact that Atari Bigby was starting for them in 2007 speaks volumes.
3. Offensive Tackle: Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher aren't getting any younger and there really is not a lot of depth behind them so it may be time for the Cheeseheads to start looking toward the future.

1. Offensive Tackle: From the broken record department: Houston still doesn't have a stud left tackle and you have to think they will eventually want to address that long-standing problem. You'd think.
2. Outside Linebacker: A bunch of 'backers left as free agents but it wasn't like they were stars anyway. They probably need at least one starter and the depth isn't anything to write home about either
3. Safety: This team hasn't had a top safety since its inception and now it looks like Von Hutchins, Will Demps, Michael Boulware, Glenn Earl and Jason Simmons are all set to hit the market this off-season.

1. Linebacker: As expected Freddy Keiaho stepped in for Cato June and Indy didn't miss a beat but they could probably use an upgrade on the other side and their overall depth is still pretty questionable.
2. Offensive Guard: Jake Scott left as a free agent so even though Ryan Lilja was re-signed they might be searching for a new starter on the other side and at the very least the depth will need a boost.
3. Tight End: Ben Utecht, who was a crucial cog in their offense, left as a restricted free agent so they could use another athletic H-Back, especially since their starter Dallas Clark has some durability issues.

1. Defensive End: Bobby McCray wasted little time bolting as a free agent and Reggie Hayward is still trying to regain his pre-injury form so a elite pass rusher is without question their most pressing need.
2. Defensive Tackle: For years the Jags had one of the best sets of defensive tackles in the NFL but after trading away Marcus Stroud for peanuts they have a glaring hole alongside Big John Henderson.
3. Safety: After selecting Reggie Nelson in round one last year they are set at free safety but Gerald Sensabaugh is more than likely not the answer alongside him while Sammy Knight was just a stop-gap.

1. Offensive Line: What had been a team strength for many years has now become their greatest weakness. It's not easy to replace guys like Willie Roaf and Will Shields and they certainly proved that.
2. Cornerback: Ty Law was sent packing and Patrick Surtain is near the end of his career. How about the depth you ask? At this point it consists of a couple of second year undrafted free agents. Yikes!!!
3. Wide Receiver: They found a keeper in Dwayne Bowe in Round 1 last year but Eddie Kennison was shown the door and they need more than just a bunch of unproven youngsters such as Jeff Webb.

1. Offensive Tackle: Left tackle Vernon Carey is better suited to be playing on the other side and his best fit might even be inside while L.J. Shelton and his top backup at right tackle were shown the door.
2. Cornerback: Will Allen is an okay starter and they do have some others guys who would be very good in backup roles but they still need to add that true #1 shutdown type to anchor their secondary.
3. Defensive End / Outside Linebacker: The Jason Taylor era in Miami is coming to a close so they are going to need an impact pass rusher who is capable of playing end and linebacker to replace him.

1. Defensive End: Erasmus James has been a big bust and Kenechi Udeze will miss at least the 2008 season while he battles leukemia so they're really in desperate need of a legitimate stud pass rusher.
2. Offensive Tackle: Ryan Cook played better in '08 but is far from entrenched at right tackle, Marcus Johnson's disppointed and they would be in huge trouble if something happened to Bryant McKinnie.
3. Safety: Madieu Williams was brought in as a free agent addition but Darren Sharper is getting up there in years and there isn't much depth to speak of so it might be time to start grooming a youngster.

1. Cornerback: Asante Samuel is gone. Randall Gay is gone. Heck, they even lost Eugene Wilson! Other than maybe Ellis Hobbs there is not anything resembling a starting-caliber corner on their roster.
2. Linebacker: Tedy Bruschi is essentially playing on a year-to-year basis now, all of their starters are at least 30-years-old and to say there is little or no depth to speak may be a huge understatement.
3. Offensive Tackle: Matt Light is solid at left tackle but certainly not special while Nick Kaczur has been just a marginal starter in the NFL and was exposed at times throughout the season and playoffs.

1. Defensive Tackle: Brian Young, Hollis Thomas & Kendrick Clancy are all okay but there is not an impact player among them and it is probably time to bring in a difference maker in the middle of the line.
2. Center: Jeff Faine was an unherladed performer in the pivot for them but he left for a huge free agent deal with the Bucs. Jonathan Goodwin is just a journeyman and is better suited for a backup role.
3. Outside Linebacker: Scott Fujita & Scott Shanle have been okay but neither is so good they can't be upgraded. They are also thin in the depth department so an injury would leave them in a real bind.

1. Safety: They signed Sammy Knight to replace free agent defector Gibril Wilson but he is merely a stop-gap at best and while Michael Johnson showed some promise he also blew a lot of assignements.
2. Outside Linebacker: Kawika Mitchell and Reggie Torbor both left as free agents while Mathias Kiwanuka is coming off an injury and could be moving back to defensive end sometime in the near future.
3. Cornerback: Aaron Ross is a keeper but Sam Madison and R.W. McQuarters are nearing the end of their career and even though he showed improvement Corey Webster's still somewhat of an enigma.

1. Cornerback: Darrelle Revis looks like he's the real deal but Justin Miller seems like he has become a permanent fixture in the coaching staff's doghouse and there really is not a whole lot of depth either.
2. Wide Receiver: After talking about it for a couple of years they finally "jettisoned" Justin McCareins so depth is needed. If he keeps complaining about his contract Laveranues Coles could be gone too.
3. Safety: Kerry Rhodes has quietly emerged as one of the premier safeties in the league but Erik Coleman bolted as a free agent and they will need to find someone better than Abram Elam next to him.

1. Defensive Line: Depending on where the choose to play Tommy Kelly, who they grossly overpaid for in free agency, they will either need find a stud pass rusher at defensive end or defensive tackle.
2. Offensive Tackle: Either Kwame Harris or second year pro Mario Henderson will hold down the old fort at left tackle (they hope) but Cornell Green leaves much to be desired as the starting right tackle.
3. Wide Receiver: Javon Walker was signed to a huge contract but he has a long history of knee injuries and when you get beyond him and Ronald Curry there is not anything worth getting excited about.

1. Wide Receiver: Reggie Brown's a nice #2 target but Kevin Curtis is probably better suited for a #3 role like he played with the Rams. They can get by with this group but they could also use a stud #1.
2. Offensive Line: William Thomas and Jon Runyan are nearing the end of the road and after his disastrous performance against Osi Umenyiora last season who knows if Winston Justice is still a factor.
3. Linebacker: Takeo Spikes was released after just one season in Philly and even though they have a bunch of youngsters that they seem to like they are still severely lacking in the depth department.

1. Offensive Guard: They allowed one of the best o-guards in the league (Alan Faneca) to leave as a free agent and they really don't have anyone who's capable of replacing him currently on the roster.
2. Offensive Tackle: Max Starks was named their transition player so he will be around for one more year but his long-term future is in doubt and Marvel Smith will be a free agent next offseason as well.
3. Wide Receiver: Plaxico Burress used to be Ben Roethlisberger's favorite target and "Big Ben" misses him. He has even gone public with his request for a big, physical presence for their passing game.

1. Offensive Tackle: Shane Olivea suffered a really steep decline in his play and he was subsequently released leaving a still very much unproven Jeromey Clary as the potential new starter at right tackle.
2. Safety: Marlon McCree has been a disappointment and won't be back in 2008 and Clinton Hart is more of a backup so they'll have to bring in someone to team with Eric Weddle next year and beyond.
3. Defensive Line: They are fine when it comes to the starters but Luis Castillo has had a lot of trouble staying healthy and there is no depth behind Jamal Williams so if he gets hurt they're in big trouble.

1. Outside Linebacker: Manny Lawson is still coming along but Tully Banta-Cain did not have nearly the type of impact they anticipated after signing on as a free agent and another pass rusher is needed.
2. Offensive Line: It appears as though future Hall of Famer Larry Allen is going to hang up his cleats and Justin Smiley left for Miami as a free agent so at the very least some depth is needed up front.
3. Wide Receiver: Darrell Jackson didn't live up to all of those high expectations, Ashley Lelie was basically a non-factor, 3rd round pick Jason Hill was invisible and Isaac Bruce has seen much better days.

1. Tight End: Marcus Pollard is a free agent but he was just a stop gap anyway so they will need to bring in someone who can be an effective blocker as well as a dynamic weapon in the passing game.
2. Offensive Line: Right guard Chris Gray is pushing 40-years-old and even though they have recently invested in some youngsters nobody has really stepped up and established themselves just yet.
3. Running Back: Julius Jones is okay but he is not the type of guy who can carry the load and with Shaun Alexander out of the picture it may be time to bring in a true stud and workhorse at the position.

1. Defensive End: Leonard Little will turn 34-years-old during the 2008 season and he is starting to wear down while James Hall was recently cut, leaving Victor Adeyanju as a starter on the other side.
2. Wide Receiver: Isaac Bruce, who was the last Ram around from the old Los Angeles days, was let go which means the depth is now extremely sketchy behind their starters Torry Holt & Drew Bennett.
3. Offensive Line: Two years in a row now Orlando Pace has gone down with season-ending injuries, Alex Barron is best suited for the right side and there are still a ton of question marks on the interior.

1. Defensive Tackle: The days of Warren Sapp & Booger McFarland wreaking havoc in the middle are long gone and now they've been replaced by Chris Hovan & Jovan Haye. It just isn't quite the same.
2. Wide Receiver: Joey Galloway is still pretty productive but he is going to be 37-years-old next season and beyond him there is not too much to get excited about. Sorry Ike Hilliard and Maurice Stovall.
3. Cornerback: Long time starter Brian Kelly was allowed to leave and Ronde Barber doesn't have too many good years left either so it is time to start bringing in some quality youngsters for the future.

1. Wide Receiver: They have used quite a few mid-round picks on wideouts in recent drafts but the results have been mixed (at best) so it is probably time to finally give Vince Young that true #1 target.
2. Defensive End: Both Antwan Odom and Travis LaBoy left as free agents, Bryce Fisher is not really starting material and at this point who knows what they expect to get out of the aging Jevon Kearse.
3. Defensive Tackle: Albert Haynesworth was franchised so he is not going anywhere but Randy Starks bolted as a free agent. Even if Tony Brown is capable of starting they'll need to add some depth.

1. Defensive End: Andre Carter has turned out to be a real good free agent signing and he's racking up sacks but Phillip Daniels is 35 years old and there is basically little or no quality depth to speak of.
2. Wide Receiver: Starters Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El are both listed at under 5-10 so it may be a good idea to bring in a bigger, more physical wideout to play alongside / complement them.
3. Defensive Back: Shawn Springs may be a cap casualty which will create depth issues at cornerback while the unfortunate and tragic death of Pro Bowler Sean Taylor created a few questions at safety.
