Strengths:
Excellent athleticism...Very good speed and quickness...Great range...Does a nice job in pursuit and has a burst to close...Does a good job of shedding blocks...Can penetrate and wreak havoc in the backfield...Versatile...He will get a decent push up the middle...Explosive off the ball with a great first step...Still has some upside.
Weaknesses:
Has an inconsistent motor...Doesn't have great size...He doesn't always play with proper leverage...Will have to get stronger...Not overly stout at the point...Wasn't real productive...Durability may be a concern...Did not have a great senior season.
Notes:
An elite recruit coming out of high school..Played alongside a number of future pro defensive linemen such as Mario Williams, Manny Lawson, John McCargo and Tank Tyler...Dealt with wrist, toe and knee injuries the past couple of years...He did not have the type of senior campaign most were expecting...He would appear to be a prototypical three-technique...Bit of an underachiever but an interesting prospect.
