Strengths:
Has prototypical size...Pretty good athlete....Has a good arm and can make all the throws...Nice footwork and mechanics....Tough....Mobile enough to buy time in the pocket and make plays with his feet...Can throw on the run...A hard worker...Very smart with a great football IQ...Has a quick release...May still have a lot of upside.
Weaknesses:
Makes too many bad decisions...Does not handle pressure well...Often times tries to force the issue...Was not very productive...Durability is a concern....Leadership ability has been questioned...A little jumpy in the pocket....Extremely inconsistent.
Notes:
Was the Gatorade National High School Football Player of the Year in '02 and was widely regarded to be the nation's top quarterback recruit...Redshirted in 2003...A classic underachiever who has all the physical tools you look for but has not been able to put it all together yet....Was he a victim of the Hurricanes recent struggles or a reason behind them?....Looks like a Top 5 overall pick on paper but on film he looks like he should be searching for a new career..A perfect developmental signal caller who it would absolutely be worth taking a late round flyer on....A Low Risk / High Reward prospect who could pay big dividends if the light ever does come on.
